The stunning beaches, beautiful countryside and friendliness of the community drew my husband, David, our four boys and I to this area eight years ago. For the past seven years I have been teaching in the senior area of the school but this year am enjoying teaching a year 3 class.
 
Ensuring the students have a well-balanced education with opportunities to develop academically, socially and physically, is important to me. Hence my involvements at school in sporting activities and kapahaka. 
 
I enjoy gardening and one of my favourite pastimes is our family holidays which include fishing, snorkeling, tramping and reading lots of good books. I am passionate about literacy, which I see as foundational for almost all other learning.
