Montessori Classroom

 The Montessori Unit opened its first class (Room 15), in February 2009, with eleven eager children and a hugely capable teacher. We couldn't be happier with our start.
 
The success of our Montessori Unit is based on four strands - teacher Jane Watson; Matakana Primary School; the School's Board of Trustees and ourselves, the Mahurangi Montessori Primary Trust (MMPT) - working together, communicating regularly, ensuring harmonious relationships are maintained.
 
We are very fortunate that we are in a supportive environment where the Unit is acknowledged as enhancing the school and its reputation for quality education. In return, we are always striving towards making a positive difference to the school. Of course, all of this exists purely to serve the most important aspect of the Unit - the wonderful children who attend the Montessori class each day with such passion, excitement and joy.
